Pattanam lake is one of the largest lakes in the Namakkal district near Rasipuram. It falls under the control of the Public Works Department. The lake’s catchment area falls in Bodha Malai, which is situated in the north of Pudhupalayam and the main source of water for the region is the water coming from the rains in Bodhamalai.

There were no proper check dams, ponds, or reservoirs in the forest area to percolate and recharge the groundwater. Even after a good monsoon season most of the water just runs off and the surrounding areas remain dry.

Wake Our Lake along with a local team “Namma Bodha Malai” were involved in reviving this major lake, and its surrounding green cover, improvinggroundwater level and facilitating efficient water recharge after taking Nansey’s consultancy on various aspects of the project.
